This policy supplements our Privacy Policy. Also see: Terms of Use.
1. What are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are downloaded to your device (computer, tablet, or smartphone) when you visit a website. They allow the site to recognize your device on subsequent visits, remember your preferences (such as language), and analyze how you interact with the content to improve your experience.
2. Types of Cookies We Use
Saporina uses different types of cookies for specific purposes. Some are essential for the website to function, while others help us improve performance or offer personalized content.
2.1 Technical & Strictly Necessary
No Consent RequiredThese cookies are essential for the proper operation of the website. They allow you to browse the site, use its features (such as accessing secure areas), and ensure security. Without these cookies, the website cannot function.
Examples: Session identification, load balancing, security tokens.
Retention: Session-only (deleted when you close your browser).
2.2 Functional Cookies
No Consent Required*These cookies allow the website to remember choices you make (such as your user name, language, or the region you are in) and provide enhanced, more personal features.
Examples: Language preference, region selection, accessibility settings.
Retention: Up to 1 year.
2.3 Analytical & Performance
Consent RequiredThese cookies allow us to count visits and traffic sources so we can measure and improve the performance of our site. They help us know which pages are the most and least popular and see how visitors move around the site.
Note: Saporina configures Google Analytics 4 with the EU-region data-collection option, IP-address masking enabled, Google Signals disabled, and the shortest available retention window.
Tool Used: Google Analytics 4 (GA4).
Retention: 2 months default (configurable up to 14 months).
2.4 Marketing & Profiling
Consent RequiredThese cookies may be set through our site by our advertising partners. They may be used by those companies to build a profile of your interests and show you relevant adverts on other sites. They do not store directly personal information but are based on uniquely identifying your browser and internet device.
Note: If you do not allow these cookies, you will experience less targeted advertising.
Retention: Up to 2 years (varies by provider).
* Functional cookies do not require explicit consent under most interpretations of the ePrivacy Directive because they are necessary to provide a service explicitly requested by the user (e.g., remembering your language choice). However, transparency about their use is still required, which this policy provides.
3. Third-Party Cookies
Please note that third parties (including, for example, advertising networks and providers of external services like web traffic analysis services) may also use cookies, over which we have no control. These cookies are likely to be analytical/performance cookies or targeting cookies.

6. Legal Basis per Cookie Category
For each cookie category we record the legal basis under both the EU ePrivacy Directive 2002/58/EC (Article 5(3)) and Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR Article 6):
6.1 Essential & Functional Cookies
ePrivacy 5(3): Storage exempt from consent — strictly necessary for the provision of an information society service explicitly requested by the user. GDPR Art. 6(1)(f): Legitimate interest in operating a secure, functioning website.
6.2 Analytics Cookies
ePrivacy 5(3): Consent required (no exemption). GDPR Art. 6(1)(a): Explicit, freely given, specific, informed, and unambiguous consent collected via the cookie banner. You can withdraw at any time without prejudice.
6.3 Marketing & Profiling Cookies
ePrivacy 5(3): Consent required. GDPR Art. 6(1)(a): Explicit consent collected through the banner with separate opt-in for advertising and tracking. Consent records are retained for 24 months under Article 7(1) accountability obligations.
7. International Transfers
Where third-party cookie providers process data outside the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, Saporina relies on the following safeguards under Chapter V GDPR:
7.1 Google Analytics 4 — EU/US Transfer
Saporina enables the EU-region data-collection option in GA4 to keep raw IP processing inside the EEA. Onward transfer to Google LLC (United States) is governed by the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (Module 2 Controller-Processor) signed with Google Ireland Limited, supplemented by Google's Data Processing Amendment, the Google Cloud Data Protection Addendum, and Google's certification under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework (where in force). A transfer impact assessment (TIA) is on file and available on request.
For social-media tracking cookies (LinkedIn, Meta/Facebook, X), each platform acts as an independent controller for its own processing under Wirtschaftsakademie (CJEU C-210/16) and Fashion ID (CJEU C-49/17) joint-controllership case law. We retain links to each platform's privacy policy below in Section 3.
8. Your Rights
Where cookies process personal data, you retain the full catalog of GDPR data subject rights. See the Privacy Policy — Your Rights for the detailed enumeration. Specifically applicable to cookies:
Right to Withdraw Consent
Article 7(3) GDPR. Withdrawal is as easy as giving consent — reachable via the "Cookie Settings" footer link without registration or login.
Right of Access
Article 15. You may request a copy of any personal data linked to your cookie identifiers.
Right to Erasure
Article 17. You may delete cookies via your browser at any time (see Section 4.2) and request server-side deletion of associated profile data.
Right to Object
Article 21. You may object at any time to processing for direct marketing purposes.
Right to Lodge a Complaint — Article 77 GDPR
If you are not satisfied with our handling of a cookie-related request, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local Data Protection Authority. EEA residents may use the EDPB authority finder at edpb.europa.eu. UK residents may contact the ICO at ico.org.uk. Egyptian residents may contact the Personal Data Protection Center under Law 151/2020.
Global Privacy Control (GPC) & Do-Not-Track
Saporina honors the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal as a valid "do not sell or share" preference under California's CCPA/CPRA. When a request includes a GPC signal we treat it as an opt-out from non-essential cookies for that browser without requiring further banner interaction.
9. Children & Age of Consent
The Saporina website targets B2B buyers and adult consumers. We do not knowingly direct cookie-based advertising at children. The minimum age for valid cookie consent under Article 8(1) GDPR is 16 years, with the following national overrides where applicable:
- 16 years — default under GDPR Article 8(1); applied in Germany, Ireland, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Lithuania, Croatia, Hungary, Romania, Slovakia.
- 14 years — Austria, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Italy, Lithuania, Spain.
- 13 years — Belgium, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Latvia, Malta, Poland, Portugal, Sweden, United Kingdom.
- 13 years — United States (COPPA — for users in CA/IL also subject to additional state restrictions).
If you believe a child has provided cookie consent through this Site without parental authorization, contact privacy@saporina.com; we will erase the associated identifiers without undue delay.
10. Updates and Contact
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time in order to reflect, for example, changes to the cookies we use or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. When we make material changes that affect your rights or a previously-consented category, we will request fresh consent through the cookie banner and update the "Effective Date" at the top of this page.
Please re-visit this page regularly to stay informed about our use of cookies and related technologies.
