Annual Report 2026 | Theme: "Responsibility Growing Together"

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Report

Our commitment to operating ethically, sustainably, and transparently in every market we touch.

This report is published annually and covers Saporina's global corporate operations and strategic manufacturing network.

This report operationalizes Saporina's Corporate Policy. Related: Code of Business Conduct, Anti-Bribery Policy, Whistleblowing Policy.

1. Leadership Message

At Saporina, we believe that true quality extends far beyond the sensory experience of our products; it encompasses the profound impact we have on the world around us. As a global brand that bridges the gap between diverse agricultural resources and conscious consumers worldwide, we recognize our deep responsibility to operate ethically, sustainably, and transparently in every market we touch.

Our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy is not merely a policy document or a compliance checklist; it is the very foundation of our manufacturing ecosystem. We do not simply trade goods; we manage a strategic manufacturing network that respects resources, communities, and people. We view our suppliers not as vendors, but as extensions of our own business—partners with whom we share a commitment to excellence.

We are committed to growing our business while aggressively protecting the growers, the workers, and the planet that make our products possible. In an era of climate uncertainty and supply chain volatility, Saporina stands firm in its resolve to be a stabilizing force—ensuring that prosperity is shared from the farm level to the final consumer.

2. Our Strategic Pillars

Our CSR approach is built on four core pillars that guide every procurement, production, and logistical decision we make. These pillars are fully aligned with our "Responsibility Growing Together" initiative:

Pillar 1: Product Excellence (The "What")

Commitment: To provide safe, nutritious, and high-quality food products that families can trust.

  • Food Safety First: We operate under a single, non-negotiable global standard. Every production line authorized to manufacture Saporina products is mandated to adhere to top-tier international safety certifications, specifically ISO 22000. Our internal Quality Assurance team conducts regular verification visits to ensure these standards are lived, not just filed.
  • Clean Labeling & Transparency: We are committed to radical transparency in ingredients and nutritional information. Our "Clean Label" initiative focuses on eliminating unnecessary additives, artificial preservatives, and colorants. We believe consumers have the right to make informed, healthy choices.
  • Nutritional Innovation: We actively collaborate with our partners' technical teams to drive reformulation efforts. Our goal is to develop recipes that significantly reduce sodium, sugar, and saturated fats without compromising the authentic flavor profile that Saporina is known for.

Pillar 2: Responsible Supply Chain (The "How")

Commitment: To ensure that every product carrying the Saporina name is produced ethically, respecting human rights and fair labor practices.

  • Empowering the Grower: We act to decouple farmers from the destructive cycles of market volatility. Through long-term purchasing agreements, we provide the financial stability farmers need to invest in their land. We deploy agronomy support programs to assist growers in adopting safer pesticide practices, implementing drip irrigation systems, and improving soil health.
  • Workplace Safety & Human Rights: We enforce rigorous Health & Safety protocols fully compliant with international labor standards, anchored in the Saporina ETI Base Code. We strictly monitor our manufacturing sites through scheduled and unannounced audits to ensure no child labor, forced labor, or unsafe working conditions exist.
  • Fair Partnerships & Zero Corruption: We view our relationship with manufacturers as a mentorship. We support our manufacturing network with technical know-how and process optimization. In exchange, we demand integrity. We maintain a zero-tolerance policy towards bribery and corruption as detailed in our Anti-Bribery Policy.

Pillar 3: Environmental Stewardship (The "Where")

Commitment: To minimize the ecological footprint of our global operations through circular thinking and aggressive resource management.

  • Circular Economy: We fight food waste by utilizing aesthetically imperfect but nutritionally premium produce in our processed lines (such as sauces, pastes, and chopped ingredients). By creating value from produce that would otherwise be discarded, we maximize the efficiency of land use and reduce agricultural waste.
  • Water Stewardship: We prioritize production sites that invest in advanced water management technologies, such as closed-loop water recycling systems. We actively monitor water usage ratios (liters of water per kg of product) across our network to drive continuous improvement.
  • Carbon-Conscious Logistics: We utilize advanced load-planning software to maximize pallet density. We capitalize on port proximity for our manufacturing sites to minimize road transport and prioritize intermodal transport options to reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions per unit of product.
  • Sustainable Packaging: Our roadmap includes shifting rigid plastics to rPET (recycled PET) and introducing bio-based materials where safety permits. We work with packaging engineers to "lightweight" our designs—reducing material thickness to the minimum required for product protection.

Pillar 4: People & Community (The "Who")

Commitment: To support the well-being of our team and the communities we touch, fostering an environment of respect and mutual aid.

  • Diversity & Inclusion: We foster an inclusive culture within our corporate team, ensuring equal opportunity regardless of gender, background, religion, or belief. We are particularly focused on empowering women in leadership roles, as detailed in our Gender Equality Plan.
  • Community Support: We direct a meaningful portion of our resources to support food security initiatives in the regions where we operate. This involves partnering with certified local food banks to donate nutritious, safe-to-eat surplus inventory, ensuring that our success contributes directly to alleviating hunger in our communities.

3. Alignment with UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

Saporina has strategically aligned its corporate targets with the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (opens in a new window). We focus our efforts where our business model allows us to have the most significant and measurable impact:

Goal: End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition, and promote sustainable agriculture.

Saporina Action: We tackle this on two fronts: minimizing food waste through our Circular Economy initiatives, ensuring imperfect produce feeds people, not landfills; and formalizing our donation programs, diverting surplus safe-to-eat inventory to certified local food banks.

Goal: Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages.

Saporina Action: We rigorously control our manufacturing processes to prevent food fraud and ensure product safety. Beyond safety, we promote health by reducing sodium and sugar in our formulations and utilizing responsible marketing practices that encourage balanced diets.

Goal: Promote sustained, inclusive, and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment, and decent work for all.

Saporina Action: We act as an engine for economic growth by Empowering the Grower and connecting local manufacturing capabilities to global export markets. We insist on "Living Wages" and safe working conditions across our network.

Goal: Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns.

Saporina Action: We audit our sites to ensure efficient use of raw materials, specifically targeting Water Stewardship. We are actively reducing plastic packaging thickness while maintaining durability, and we educate our consumers on proper recycling methods.

4. Governance and Reporting

Oversight & Accountability

The Compliance and Audit Committee is the supreme governance body overseeing the implementation of this CSR policy. They meet quarterly to review performance against our strategic KPIs:

Audit Compliance

Reviewing results from social and quality audits across the manufacturing network.

Sustainability Metrics

Tracking progress on quantifiable targets (e.g., % reduction in plastic usage, % of water recycled).

Ethical Reporting

Analyzing data from whistleblowing reports regarding ethical breaches or corruption risks.

Transparency & Verification

We believe trust is earned through transparency and verified by action. While we protect our proprietary trade secrets, we are open about our standards and our performance.

Quality Assurance & Audits

Our internal compliance teams conduct rigorous, unannounced social and quality verification visits across our manufacturing network. We also engage independent third-party auditors to validate our findings and ensure objectivity.

Reporting

We maintain an open line of communication with all stakeholders. We encourage employees, suppliers, and community members to report any practices that violate this policy through the Saporina Responsible Channel (Whistleblowing Policy), guaranteeing confidentiality and non-retaliation.

5. Looking Ahead: 2026 Goals

Our journey is continuous. For the upcoming year, we have set ambitious targets to further embed sustainability into our DNA:

Supply Chain Integration

Achieve 100% formal acknowledgment and integration of the Saporina Code of Conduct across all Tier-1 manufacturing operations and critical raw material suppliers.

Packaging Reduction

Reduce the use of virgin plastic in our secondary packaging by 10%, replacing it with recycled content or fiber-based alternatives.

Social Excellence

Launch a comprehensive "Manufacturing Excellence Program", a training module designed to upskill our smaller production partners on international labor standards, safety management, and operational efficiency.
